SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State football head coach Brady Hoke has announced that Kenneth Jiles Jr. (Springfield, Ohio (Springfield High/Hocking College)) has signed a Grant-in-Aid to join the program. Along with the 18 who signed during the early signing period in December and three recent FBS transfers, the Aztec signing class is now at 22.

Jiles Jr. comes to SDSU after spending one season at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. Jiles Jr. played in nine games in 2022, logging 17 tackles (12 solo), including three sacks and four tackles for loss, while adding three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups. At Springfield High School in Ohio, he helped lead the program to a 13-2 record as a senior in 2021, including a 6-1 mark in the Greater Western Ohio league. Jiles Jr., who also competed on the basketball and track & field team at Springfield HS, is a three-star recruit by 247sports and the No. 6 edge rusher from JUCO.

San Diego State's signing class now has eight offensive players and 14 on defense.

The Aztecs finished the 2022 season with a 7-6 record, making it 13 straight years of being at least .500 with 12 of those being winning campaigns.
