SAN DIEGO – San Diego State's Mountain West opponents have been revealed for the 2024 season. The conference office announced the full league slate Thursday afternoon.
While dates are to be determined the Aztecs will play host to Air Force, Hawai'i, New Mexico, and Oregon State at Snapdragon Stadium next season and travel to Boise State, UNLV, Utah State, and Wyoming for the road half of the eight-game schedule. The matchup with Oregon State will not count toward the league standings.
The non-conference portion of the schedule will be announced at a later date.
According to the Mountain West release, this new league slate features a total of 42 games and 12 non-conference matchups against Oregon State and Washington State. As previously announced, the games against the Beavers and Cougars are part of a scheduling agreement for the 2024 football season. The schedule will play out over 14 weeks, concluding on December 7 with the Mountain West Championship Game featuring the two MW teams with the highest Conference winning percentage.
The 2024 schedule follows a 7+1 model, whereby each MW program will play seven league opponents, and face either Oregon State or Washington State, with an even split of four home games and four away games among the eight contests. Working off the previous three-year schedule rotation (2023-2025), matchups were rebalanced utilizing the same principles to minimize the impact on the original 2024 schedule.
