SAN DIEGO – San Diego State track and field head coach Shelia Burrell has announced the signing of Anna Mager for the upcoming 2024 season. Mager was at Oklahoma this fall after spending the first two seasons of her collegiate career at the University of Tulsa.
Primarily competing in the 400m hurdles for the Hurricanes, Mager qualified for the NCAA West Preliminaries finishing 18th in the semifinals race with a time of 58.76. Her collegiate best time in the event is a 58.54, coming at The American Championships last year where she finished third in the conference.
Throughout the season, Mager had four individual podium finishes and three as part of a relay team. She won the 400m hurdles race at the Wichita State KT Woodman Classic, the 200m race at the Wichita State Spring Invitational, and ran a relay leg of two 4x400m victories for the Hurricanes.
As a freshman, she ran the 300-meter in 40.00 which ranks fourth fastest in Tulsa indoor history. She also ran a 40.53 in the event which ranks sixth fastest.
A native of Austria, Mager was a three-time letterwinner in inline hockey, soccer, and track and field at Dornbirn High School.
