SEATTLE, Wash – The Aztec women's basketball team (7-4) won at Seattle (1-8) 69-61 Monday afternoon. SDSU has now won six of their last eight games.
"I'm really proud of our effort," Head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson said after the game. "This was a tough and loud place to play with them having their elementary school day today. It took a lot for us to get where we needed to be and we're happy to get out of here with a win."
Adryana Quezada once again paced the Aztecs with 20 points and eight rebounds. Quezada scored 18 of her 20 in the first half. Jada Lewis led the Aztecs in the second half where she scored 16 of her 19 and Abby Prohaska did a bit of everything and finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
The Redhawks led for most of the first half, but a Quezada three with two seconds left in the second quarter gave SDSU a 30-28 lead at the halftime break. Quezada was 8-for-9 from the floor in the first half.
The Aztecs began the second half with a 6-0 run to go up 43-35, which would be their biggest lead of the day. Jada Lewis hit three three-pointers in the opening four minutes of the third quarter to help SDSU extend their lead.
Seattle pulled within one-point multiple times in the fourth quarter, but SDSU always had an answer. Sarah Barcello scored eight points in the final quarter to help seal the win.
The Redhawks were led by Mya Moore's 12 pints and eight rebounds.

The Aztecs committed just six fouls and Seattle didn't attempt a single free throw.

Adryana Quezada is just six points away from 1,000 in her career.
