SAN DIEGO – San Diego State will send a contingent of seven divers to compete in the Riverside Collegiate Invitational, scheduled for Dec. 1-2, in Riverside, California.

Making the excursion to the Riverside Aquatics Center this week are Jules Harrison, Taylor Konopacke, Valentina Lopez Arevalo, Jessica Schroeder, Alina Skrocki, Summer Westmoreland and Olivia Zamudio.

Along with the Aztecs, the two-day meet features divers from the University of San Diego and California Baptist. The competition gets underway both days at 9:15 a.m. PT, with live results available on DiveMeets.com.

SDSU will participate in all three diving events, starting with the preliminaries of the 1-meter springboard on Friday morning to be followed later in the day with final-round action.

In addition, the preliminaries and finals of the 3-meter springboard will be conducted on Saturday, sandwiched around the platform competition.

Lopez Arevalo took home four event titles and posted two additional top-four finishes in three different meets earlier this fall, earning Mountain West Diver of the Week honors for those combined efforts on Oct. 10. The Aztec junior claimed three overall crowns during the weekend of Sept. 29-30 in a dual-meet win at Cal Poly and a double dual victory over Cal Poly and Fresno Pacific.

Lopez Arevalo emerged victorious in the 1-meter (283.58) and 3-meter springboard (303.45), both of which were NCAA Zone qualifying scores, as the Scarlet and Black rolled past Cal Poly 150-135 on Sept. 29.

The following day, she captured another title on the 1-meter board in the double-dual vs. Cal Poly and Fresno Pacific with a season-best 287.10 pts and finished second in the 3-meters (277.88), helping SDSU defeat the Mustangs 128-71 and the Sunbirds 132-38.

At the Fresno State Invite, Lopez Arevalo won the 3-meter springboard for the third time this fall with a season-best 312.80 points, which marked another NCAA Zone qualifying score. The Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico, native also finished fourth on the 1-meter board with 254.80 pts, which represented the top score among 12 conference competitors in the event.

Elsewhere, Westmoreland (263.03) was triumphant on the 1-meter board in the Aztecs' big 101-47 dual-meet victory at Pepperdine on Oct. 5, while Skrocki (228.75) landed in the third spot, followed by Konopacke (214.35 pts), who tied for sixth.

Following a break for final exams, the San Diego State swim and dive program returns to the competition pool for its home opener on Tuesday, Dec. 19, when the full squad convenes to welcome Air Force in a dual meet at Aztec Aquaplex. First swim is set for 10 a.m. PT, and admission is free.
