STANFORD, Calif. – The Aztec men's soccer team (6-5-5, 0-5-3) fell at No. 19 Stanford (8-2-5, 2-1-5) 5-0 Thursday evening.
SDSU started the game off hot and had two excellent opportunities in the first three minutes. First Terence Okoeguale had a 1v1 with the goalkeeper that required a last-minute kick save and then Alexander Levengood had a shot bounce off the crossbar.
The Aztecs outshot Stanford 7-4 in the first 20 minutes, but the Cardinal adjusted and outshot the Aztecs 18-2 the rest of the way.
Stanford scored their first goal in the seventh minute and then added two more in a 70 second span in the 19th and 20th minute.
The Cardinal added two more in the second frame with goals in the 74th and 78th minute.
Goalkeeper Logan Erb played the first half and collected two saves while Djibri Doumbia played the second half and made three saves.
