SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (4-2) hosts UC San Diego (2-4) Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside Viejas Arena.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• After losing their first two, SDSU has won four in a row with an average margin of victory of 19.8 points.
• The Aztecs have held each of their last three opponents under 50 points while winning each of those by at least 20 points.
• SDSU is coming off a 74-49 win over Penn Saturday.
• The Aztecs never trailed in the game and held the Quakers to 25 percent shooting while shooting 50 percent from the floor.
• SDSU had three players record personal high scoring efforts as an Aztec. Adryana Quezada had 21 points, Meghan Fiso had a career-high 15 and Sarah Barcello added 13.
• Quezada added nine rebounds and five assists to become just the seventh Aztec in the Mountain West era to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game.
• SDSU allowed a season-low 12 points in the paint vs. Penn.
• The Aztecs are in the midst of five straight home games. Over the last two years, SDSU is 18-4 at home.
• SDSU has four players averaging at least 10 points per game: Adryana Quezada (14.3), Jada Lewis (11.0), Abby Prohaska (11.2), and Sarah Barcello (10.2). Kim Villalobos is averaging 9.5 points per game.
• SDSU leads the Mountain West with 15.2 made free throws per game and their free throw percentage of 79.8% is 20th in the nation. Abby Prohaska is shooting 90.0% from the line on the year, second in the Mountain West.
• The Aztec starting lineup features two sixth year seniors (Barcello and Prohaska), two fifth year seniors (Lewis and Quezada) and a fourth-year senior (Villalobos). This is believed to be the most experienced starting five in the nation.
• In the Aztecs' six games, they have had four different leading scorers and four different leading rebounders.
• SDSU is averaging 11.0 steals per game and has five players averaging at least one steal per game (Villalobos, Pepe, Quezada, Prohaska and Barcello). Since the beginning of last year, the Aztecs have had more steals than their opponent in 31 of their 40 games.
• SDSU is hosting No. 3 Stanford Friday. It will be the first time the Aztecs have hosted a top-three opponent since Dec. 21, 2007 (UConn).
• The Aztecs currently have three players (all newcomers) out with injury: Erin Houpt, Trinity Zamora and Mia Davis.
• SDSU announced the signings of four recruits to National Letters of Intent: guards Kaelyn Hamilton (McKinney, Texas), Natalia Martinez (San Leandro, Calif.) and Naomi Panganiban (San Diego) and forward Bailey Barnhard (San Diego).
 
Player Notes
Adryana Quezada (Frisco, Texas) averaged 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 77 percent from the floor in SDSU's two wins last week.
• Against Penn, she became the first Aztec since 2020, and just seventh in the Mountain West era, to have at least 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a game. Out of those seven, Quezada accomplished the feat in the fewest number of minutes.
• Quezada is shooting 56.1% from the floor, which leads the Mountain West.
• Quezada has scored in double-digits in five of SDSU's six games. In her career, she has scored in double-digits in 43 of her 63 games.
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) is second in the Mountain West in free throw percentage (90.0%) this season. She is 121-for-141 from the free throw line in her career (85.8%). She shot 87.5% last year, the fourth best ever in a single-season by an Aztec.
Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles) stuffed the stat sheet vs. Westcliff last week and became just the second Aztec in the Mountain West era (1999-present) to have at least 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists in a game, joining SDSU Hall of Famer Jené Morris.
• Villalobos and Quezada, SDSU's starting post players, lead the Aztecs in assists.
• Villalobos and Khylee Pepe (Long Beach, Calif.), SDSU's backup post, lead the team in steals.
• Pepe has tied a career-high with three steals in each of her last two games.
Jada Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) is shooting 36.9% from three in her career (104 games).
• Lewis is 55-for-62 (88.7%) from the free throw line in her career.
• Lewis is 29 points away from 1,000 in her career.
Sarah Barcello (Phoenix, Ariz.) scored 13 points vs. Penn Saturday, the most she has scored since transferring to SDSU from Marist. She has scored in double-digits in four of SDSU's six games this year and eight points in the two others. She topped 10 points just once in her 33 games last year.
Meghan Fiso (Seattle, Wash.) set a new career-high with 15 points Saturday. She is averaging 13.0 points over the last two games.
Emaya Trahan (Los Angeles) made her collegiate debut vs. Penn this past Saturday. She is a walk-on who was on the scout team last season.
 
Opponent Notebook (UC San Diego)
• The Tritons are 2-4 on the year
• They have two opponents in common with SDSU in California Baptist and Penn. Both teams lost to CBU, but SDSU beat Penn 74-49 Saturday and then the Quakers beat UCSD the next day 76-68.
• They have a rebounding margin of +5.5.
• They are forcing 20.3 turnovers per game.
• Izzy Forsyth (14.3 ppg) and Sumayah Sugapong (13.3 ppg) lead the Tritons in scoring.
• Katie Springs is averaging 10.2 rebounds per game.
• Head coach Heidi Vanderveer (12th season) has led UCSD to six 20-win seasons and has over 200 wins in her career.
• This is just the fifth meeting all-time between these two programs. SDSU leads the series 3-1. The Aztecs have beaten the Tritons in each of the past two seasons.
