SAN DIEGO – The Aztec men's soccer team (6-7-5, 0-7-3) fell to No. 21 UCLA (9-3-5, 6-0-4) 3-0 in the regular season finale Friday night.

Prior to the game, the Aztecs honored their five departing seniors Seth Clark, Alexander Levengood, Henry Smith-Hastie, Reid Sproat and Owen Zaldivar. Smith-Hastie, who has missed the entire season with injury, started the game.

"It's bittersweet to see the seniors go out like that, but we never quit," Head coach Ryan Hopkins said after the game. "They kept battling and I think that shows character. We were creating chances; we just couldn't find a way to get one in the back of the net."

UCLA, who won the Pac-12 regular season championship, scored in the seventh minute on a Tucker Lepley goal with an assist from former Aztec Andre Ochoa.

The Bruins scored two more times early in the second half with goals in the 46th (Ryan Becher) and 53rd minute (Sean Karani).

The Aztecs had 13 shots with seven on frame and outcornered the Bruins 7-3.

Alexander Levengood, Reid Fisher and Tristan Viviani each had two shots on goal.
