SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State men's tennis team will head to Santa Barbara, California, this weekend to play in the UCSB Fall Classic. The Scarlet and Black will be represented by Mathieu Josserand, Robin Parts, Andre Saleh and Liam Spiers. The event, held on the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara, starts on Friday, October 6 and goes through Sunday, October 8.
A native of France, Josserand finished with a .500 record in tournament play last fall.
The lone Aztec playing in Santa Barbara who has already played this fall is Robin Parts. The Wisconsin transfer is looking to build momentum from Sunday, when he beat Memphis' Charlie Barry in the ITA All-American Championships for his first win with SDSU.
One of six Aztecs in their senior year or graduate school, Saleh placed second on last year's team with seven singles wins in tournament play.
Spiers won the consolation finals at last year's Wildcat Invitational. He won four of his five matches in that event.
