SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women's soccer had four former student-athletes named to the Mountain West 25th season team, the conference announced on Tuesday. The four Aztecs named to the team were Kim Castellanos, Megan Jurado, Haley Palmer, and Alexis Solovij.

Kim Castellanos was a standout goal scorer at SDSU from 2000-2003 and earned a multitude of accolades during her time on The Mesa. She helped lead the Aztecs to multiple conference titles and was a three-time first team all-conference selection in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Castellanos also was named Mountain West Freshman/Newcomer of the Year in 2000, earned freshman Far West region honors in 2000, and was a freshman All-American honorable mention that season as well. Castellanos left San Diego State near the top of the record book in both career goals scored and career points. She is second in Aztec history in goals scored with 36 for her career and is third all-time in total points with 82 (36 goals, 10 assists).

Megan Jurado played a large part in the most successful season of Aztec women's soccer in 2012 when SDSU advanced to the Sweet 16, finished 21-2-1 and was tabbed the No. 7 team in the nation at the end of the year. Jurado was named a second-team All-American in 2012, a first-team all-region honoree in 2012, and was the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year that season. She tallied 39 points in 2012, the second-most in SDSU single-season history and scored 15 goals that year to put her second all-time in goals scored in a single season at San Diego State. Jurado left SDSU ninth all-time in career goals scored with 19. The striker earned first-team all-Mountain West twice in her career in 2011 and 2012 and helped lead the Aztecs to two Mountain West tournament titles in 2009 and 2012, as well as a regular season title in 2012.

Haley Palmer was a rock at the back for San Diego State during that 2012 run, as well as in 2013. She is the only Aztec in program history to win two conference player of the year awards when she won conference defensive player of the year honors in both 2012 and 2013. Palmer also earned MW freshman/newcomer of the year in 2010. During her time on The Mesa, Palmer earned all-region honors in 2012 and 2013, and was a three-time first team all-Mountain West honoree in 2011, 2012 and 2013. She was also placed on the Mountain West second team in 2010. She helped lead San Diego State to two NCAA tournament appearances, two MW regular season and two tournament titles in both 2012 and 2013.

Alexis Solovij played at San Diego State from 2002-2005 and was a three-time Mountain West first team selection. She garnered the honors in three straight seasons in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Solovij was also tabbed conference defensive player of the year in 2004 when she led San Diego State to the Mountain West tournament title match. Led the Aztecs to over 40 wins during her time on campus and during her Mountain West defensive player of the year campaign she led a backline that only gave up 11 goals over 18 matches.
