LOS ANGELES – The Aztec men's soccer team (6-3-4, 0-3-2) fell at UCLA (6-3-3, 3-0-2) 2-1 Friday evening. SDSU scored in the 14th minute but then saw the Bruins score two second half goals.
The Bruins had three shots on goal in the first 13 minutes, including a point-blank attempt that required quick reflexes from Logan Erb.
However, it was the Aztecs who found the back of the net first. On a counterattack in the 14th minute, Jules Anderson played a perfectly placed through ball behind the UCLA defense that Rommee Jaridly chased down and then avoided the charging keeper and sent it home.
SDSU wouldn't allow another Bruin shot on goal in the first half, but UCLA flipped the script in the second half. The Bruins had six shots in the first 15 minutes of the second frame and scored two quick goals.
In the 47th minute, UCLA had a free kick from just outside the box on the right wing. Tommy Silva played in into a streaking Andre Ochoa who placed it in the upper right corner, just outside Erb's fingertips.
In the 55th minute, the Bruins took the lead when Pietro Grassi headed in a Silva corner.
THE NOTE
This was just the third time this season that the Aztecs have allowed two or more goals.

The Aztecs return to the Sports Deck on Thursday when they host Oregon State at 4:30 p.m. SDSU played the Beavers to a 2-2 draw two weeks ago.
