SAN DIEGO – On Sunday, the San Diego State women's tennis team finished the SDSU Fall Classic I at the Aztec Tennis Center. Rania Azziz and Andreea Velcea once again represented the Scarlet and Black in the event including players from CSUN, Grand Canyon, Minnesota and UTEP.

After swapping opponents from yesterday with Azziz, Velcea went up against Minnesota's Emma Belluomini. After falling 6-3 in the first, Velcea fought to stay alive but ran out of steam in the tiebreaker 7-6 (8-6).

Azziz faced Anali Kocevar. She dropped the first set 6-4 but came back to take the second 6-2 to advance to the third set tiebreaker. The tiebreaker came down to the wire but ended in favor of Kocevar 10-7.

Myah Petchey was unable to play her match due to an injury suffered on Sunday.

San Diego State's next competition is the ITA Southwest Regionals between Thursday, Oct. 19 and Monday, Oct. 23. The tournament will be co-hosted by SDSU and the University of San Diego.
