SAN DIEGO – This weekend, the San Diego State women's tennis team will play at the Aztec Tennis Center once again when it co-hosts the ITA Southwest Regional Championships with the University of San Diego. Six Aztecs will play singles and doubles in the 125-person tournament, which runs from Thursday, Oct. 19 through Monday, Oct. 23.
Looking for a win in her first full match of the fall, Gloria Alogo suffered an injury in her lone singles match this season and was unable to complete it.
One of three returners on this year's roster, Rania Azziz began her season by winning in straight sets in her first match of the SDSU Fall Classic I.
The lone American on the SDSU roster, Zoe Olmos battled to earn a win over Colorado's Betina Tokac in the USTA Intercollegiate Championships.
A transfer from Oregon, Myah Petchey beat Yuliia Zhytelna in straight sets in the SDSU Fall Classic I, which was her first win with the Scarlet and Black.
In her only tournament so far this fall, Andjela Skrobonja advanced to the quarterfinals in the USTA Intercollegiate Championships.
Andreea Velcea is one of two Aztecs with a winning singles record after earning victories in her first two matches at the SDSU Fall Classic I.
