ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – On Tuesday, the San Diego State men's tennis team's Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice continued his run in the USTA Pro Futures tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He won in straight sets to earn his seventh consecutive victory going back to last season and advance to the event's main draw.
Gonzalez Fitzmaurice is unseeded in the tournament and took down the 14th seed on Monday to advance to today's play. He drew an even more challenging matchup today in Canadian Marko Stakusic, the sixth seeded player in the USTA Pro Futures tournament. The Aztec was unfazed and took down Stakusic 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets.
