Aztecs Place 11th at Leadership & Golf Invite

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Aztec women's golf team finished the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay. SDSU finished in 11th place and was led by freshman Emma Narita, who tied for 15th overall with a two-over-par 218.
 
The Aztecs finished with a four-over-par 292 Tuesday, matching their first-round score.
 
Narita, who has led the Aztecs in both tournaments this season, shot a 75 Tuesday.
 
Stephanie Barbaglia paced the Aztecs with a career-low 70 Tuesday, aided by a team-high six birdies, including three in a row on holes 2-4. She finished the tournament with a 224 (+8), good for 38th place.
 
Andrea Gomez shot an even par 72 Tuesday. She had a stretch where she birdied four of five holes spanning holes 8-12.
 
Anna Lina Otten finished with a 75 Tuesday and ended the tournament with a 228 (+12).
 
After withdrawing from the second round Monday, Anika Sato was back on the course Tuesday and shot a 75.
 
No. 6 USC won the team title with a 27-under-par 837, beating the second-place school by 31 strokes. They also had the top three individual finishers, led by Amari Avery (207, -9)
 
UP NEXT
The Aztecs compete in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Denver Oct. 6-8.
