SAN DIEGO – The Aztec men's soccer team (4-0-1) is ranked No. 18 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll. SDSU is one of two teams in the nation that haven't conceded a goal on the year (Bryant), and it's the first time in school history they've begun the year with five straight shutouts.
After earning a 0-0 draw at No. 14 Denver in their season opener, the Aztecs have won their last four matches while outscoring their opponents 9-0. Their +9 goal differential is the eighth best in the country and the program's best through five matches since 1994.
This is the second time in the past three years the Aztecs have been ranked. They rose to as high as No. 13 in the rankings in 2021.
The Aztecs return to action on Monday when they host Life Pacific. SDSU is 13-1-0 in home non-conference matches under head coach Ryan Hopkins (4th season).
