SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State football team has a Mountain West-leading 12 former players on NFL rosters, which were finalized on Wednesday.
The list includes 10 players on active rosters and two on injured reserve. An additional eight players are also on practice squads.
Keith Ismael (2017-19) and Cameron Thomas (2019-21) are both on Arizona's 53-man roster, while Segun Olubi (2020-21) is with Indianapolis, Zachary Thomas (2017, 19-21) is with Los Angeles (Rams), Daniel Bellinger (2018-21) and Nick Bawden (2014, 16-17) are representing New York Giants and Jets, respectively. Rashaad Penny (2014-17) is with Philadelphia, Damontae Kazee (2013-16) with Pittsburgh, David Wells (2014-17) with Tampa Bay and Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) made the 53-man roster at Tennessee.
On the injured list for the start of the season are Jesse Matthews (2019-22) at Houston and Tayler Hawkins (2017-21) with San Francisco.
Former Aztecs making the practice squads include Tyrell Shavers (2021-22) with Buffalo, Keshawn Banks (2018-22) at Green Bay, Alama Uluave (2018-22) at Miami, Calvin Munson (2013-16) with New England, Greg Bell (2020-21), Luc Barcoo (2018-19) and Trenton Thompson (2016, 18-21) at Pittsburgh and Alex Barrett (2013-16) with San Francisco.
