LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Three San Diego State softball players earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-West Region honors, the NFCA announced Thursday. Sophomore Mac Barbara (Long Beach, Calif.) made the first team for a second straight year, while junior Allie Light (Lexington, S.C.) and sophomore Cali Decker (Lake Mary, Fla.) garnered second-team accolades.

NFCA member head coaches from each respective region voted on the teams and all student-athletes are now eligible for the 2023 NFCA Division I All-America squads.

Barbara, an NFCA third-team All-American last year, is batting .376 (53-for-141) with 13 home runs, 44 RBIs, 31 runs, eight doubles, 28 walks and seven stolen bases for a .709 slugging percentage and .480 on-base mark. A member of the preseason USA Softball Player of the Year Watch List, Barbara is tied for seventh in Aztec single-season history in walks (28), eighth in slugging percentage (.709) and OPS percentage (1.189), tied for eighth in home runs (13), and ninth in on-base percentage (.480). Barbara also was named to the all-MW first team for a second consecutive year and was a four-time MW Player of the Week.

Light, meanwhile, enters NCAA Regional play with a 12-6 record, school-record seven saves and a 1.86 ERA in 113 innings, striking out 93 against just 20 walks, limiting the opposition to a .212 average. Light, who was also named the MW Pitcher of the Year, a first-team all-MW pick and was a four-time MW Pitcher of the Week, is tied for sixth in the country in saves (7), 37th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.65) and 41st in walks allowed per seven innings (1.24).

Decker is hitting .381 (51-for-134) in her first season at SDSU after transferring from Florida with four home runs, 32 RBIs, 27 runs and 24 walks, posting a .500 slugging percentage and a .476 on-base percentage. Decker, a second-team all-MW selection and a member of last weekend's MW All-Tournament Team, is tied for sixth in San Diego State single-season history in sacrifice flies (4) and 10th in on-bast percentage (.476).

Back-to-back MW champions, San Diego State (35-15) plays Liberty (38-20) in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional on the campus of the No. 2 overall seed UCLA (52-5) at 8 p.m. PT Friday. Grand Canyon (46-11) is the other team in the double-elimination regional.
