SAN DIEGO – Head coach Stacie Terry-Hutson has announced the signing of Jada Lewis, a graduate transfer from Portland State. Lewis, a 5'9" guard, averaged 11.4 points per game last year and led the Big Sky with 80 made threes.

"Jade is an elite shooter who will give us maturity and experience in the back court next season," Terry-Hutson said. "She is hard working and loves being in the gym to work on her game."

Lewis (Rocklin, Calif.) appeared in 98 games while making 79 starts across four years at Portland State. She totaled 906 points and made 207 three-pointers while shooting at a 37.5 percent clip. Her 207 made threes is third all-time at Portland State and would be second at SDSU, while her 80 made threes last season is one off the Aztec single season record.

"I chose SDSU because I believe I will be a great addition to this program," Lewis said. "I will be able to develop my game and play against tough competition, not only in the Mountain West, but in practice as well."

Last year she averaged 30.7 minutes per game and started all 31 games for the Vikings and scored in double-digits in 18 of those contests. She led the Big Sky with 2.58 made threes per game and had 10 games where she made at least three three-pointers.

As a junior, she averaged 10.0 points per game and made 65 threes while starting all 29 games for PSU. As a sophomore, she shot a career-best 40.2 percent from three and averaged 9.3 points per game. Lewis battled injuries as a freshman and was limited to 14 games.

At Whitney High School, she was a four-time all-league honoree and set school records for career points (1,610), field goals made (577), 3-pointers made (245), assists (321), steals (331), games played (117) and free throw percentage (.770). She also set the single-season record for points (535), field goals made (192), three-pointers made (80) and steals (125).

As a junior, she helped her school with the Capital Valley conference title and was named league MVP. In 2019, she was named to the CalHiSports.com all-state second-team.

Lewis is the second transfer to sign with the Aztecs for the 2023-24 season, joining fellow grad transfer Sania Wells (Auburn). SDSU also has three incoming freshmen Mia Davis, Alyssa Jackson and Trinity Zamora joining the program next season. The Aztecs had their best season in a decade last season, going 23-11 and making the WNIT.
