SAN DIEGO – The 2023 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships begin Thursday, May 11 and run through Saturday May 13, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California, as the Aztecs look to defend their 2022 title.
 
The Aztecs will have athletes competing in the heptathlon on Thursday, with action set to begin at 9:30 a.m. PT. Following the start of the heptathlon events, the hammer throw finals are set to begin at noon PT, followed by the 800m prelims and javelin throw finals at 6:30 p.m. PT, 200m prelims at 7:10 p.m. PT, and 400m hurdles prelims at 8:00 p.m. PT.  
 
The bulk of the conference championship will take place on Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening after the completion of the final three heptathlon events. Meet action will continue later in the evening, beginning with the 100m hurdles prelims and shot put finals at 5:30 p.m., 1,500m prelims at 6:10 p.m. PT, long jump finals at 6:35 p.m. PT, 400m prelims at 6:50 p.m. PT, and 100m prelims at 7:40 p.m. PT.
 
On Saturday, finals for the discus throw will take place at 1:00 p.m. PT, triple jump at 3:00 p.m. PT, and high jump at 3:30 p.m. PT. Finals of each track event will run continuously from 5:35 p.m. onward, with the 4x100m relay final up first, until the final event of the meet, the 4x400m relay at 9:00 p.m. PT.
