SAN DIEGO - The Aztec track and field team began competition today at the UCSD Triton Invitational at the UCSD Track and Field Stadium in San Diego, California.
Zoe Brosch and Felicia Crenshaw started the action for the Aztecs, competing in the hammer throw. Brosch placed ninth with a heave of 154' 10", earning a point for the Aztecs, while Crenshaw placed 15th with a toss of 140' 1".
Competing in pole vault, Ashley Callahan and Corey Freidenbach earned second and fourth places respectively. Callahan vaulted 13'00.25, contributing 10 points to the team score while Friedenbach jumped 12'00.50, adding six points.
Erica Grotegeer represented the Aztecs in the invitational discus throw, placing 17th on a toss of 155' 9", adding another point to the team score.
Felicia Crenshaw also competed in the open discus throw, earning a first place finish after a throw of 163' 6", earning ten points for the team score.
The Aztecs are back in action tomorrow afternoon and evening at both the UCSD Invitational in San Diego, California and the Trojan Invitational in Los Angeles, California. Both meets will have results available online at GoAztecs.com.
