SAN DIEGO – The Aztec track and field team returns to action this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at two separate meets. The Aztecs will be competing at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from April 27-29, and at the UCI Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, California from April 28-29. Both meets will have live results available online with streaming available for the Penn Relays on Flo Sports ($).
San Diego State will have the majority of the team competing at the Penn Relays starting on Thursday with competition through Saturday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The action will begin Thursday with the 400m hurdles at 2 p.m. PT where Rhea Hoyte will represent the Aztecs. Jessica Kain and Vanessa Cabello will later compete in the 5000m run, beginning at 4:15 p.m. PT.
On Friday, the field events begin with long jump and shot put at 9 a.m. PT. The 4x100 and 4x200 relays will start shortly after at 9:45 a.m. PT. Following the relays, the Aztecs will compete in the 100m hurdles at Noon, discus throw at 12:30 p.m. PT, 4x400 relay at 12:45 p.m. PT, and javelin throw at 2:15 p.m. PT. The second day of action will end at 3:05 p.m. PT with the sprint medley.
The Penn Relays will wrap up on Saturday starting at 6:30 a.m. PT with the discus throw, followed by the high jump, javelin throw, pole vault, and triple jump.
The Aztecs will have the distance team in action at the UCI Steve Scott Invitational on Friday and Saturday, hosted by UC Irvine. SDSU will send Alex Lomeli, Tatum Zinkin, Melanie Falkowski, Taylor Lustyan, and Bailey Watts to compete in mid-distance and distance at Anteater Stadium.
