SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State men's tennis team added a match against UC San Diego this week. The contest between the Aztecs and the Tritons is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. PT at the Aztec Tennis Center on Wednesday, April 12.
The Scarlet and Black (1-12, 0-3) fell 4-1 in Logan, Utah, to the Utah State Aggies on Saturday, April 8, in their second road match of the season.
In the match, SDSU was led by sophomore Alexander Mandma (3-5). After falling 6-1 in the first set to Utah State's Stijn Paardekooper, he bounced back to take the second 6-2 and the third 6-0 to win his second consecutive match.
The Tritons (7-13, 0-3) won 4-2 against Division II opponent Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday, April 1.
Last year, San Diego State won 6-1 in its first match of the spring season to move to a perfect 12-0 in the all-time series against UC San Diego.
This weekend, San Diego State's will play in its final home match of the season. It is scheduled for Sunday, April 16, at Noon PT, against the Nevada Wolfpack at the Aztec Tennis Center.
