Aztecs in Fourth After Two Rounds at BYU's Riverside Classic

PROVO, Utah –  The Aztec women's golf team finished their first two rounds at BYU's Riverside Classic Monday. SDSU sits in fourth place through 36 holes and has two players in the top 10.
 
The Aztecs shot their two best 18-hole scores of the spring with a 291 and 296. Their 291 in the first round tied for second.
 
Anika Sato sits one stroke off the lead after shooting a one-under-par 143. She had just four bogeys on the day, and just one in the first round, and finished with 27 pars, tied for the third most.
 
Bernice Olivarez Ilas is tied for eighth with a one-over-par 145. She had four birdies in her first round (72) and then had 15 pars to go with two bogeys and one birdie in her second 18.
 
April Ranches is tied for 15th. She shot a 71 in the opening round, tied for the third best score, after closing out the round with three birdies in her final five holes. Her second round 76 was bogged down by five bogeys in her final nine holes.
 
Sammy Lee, who was playing as an individual, sits in 30th after 36 holes. She shot a 151 with a 76 followed by a 75.
 
Anna Lina Otten tied Ranches with a team-high six birdies. After shooting a 79 in the first round, she bounced back with a 75 in the second.
 
Andrea Gomez rounded out the scoring with a 156 (77-79, +12).

The Aztecs will finish the Riverside Classic Tuesday. SDSU tees off at 7:40 a.m. PT.
