COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo – Three members of the Aztec women's basketball team earned All-Mountain West honors, the conference office announced Sunday morning. Asia Avinger and Sophia Ramos were named to the All-Mountain West Team while Yummy Morris was an honorable mention selection.

This is the first time in 10 years that two Aztecs made the all-conference team and also the first time in a decade that three SDSU players were honored.

In conference play, Avinger (Cerritos, Calif.) averaged 12.1 points, 4.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 49 percent from the field. She ranked second in the Mountain West in steals and third in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4) and was the only player to rank in the top three in all those categories.

An All-Freshman selection a year ago, Avinger topped 20 points three times in conference play and had 10 games in double digits. She had nine assists twice and had at least six assists on six occasions.

Avinger is one of just 12 players in the nation to average at least 12.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals and she has the highest field goal percentage out of those 12.

Ramos (San Antonio, Texas) led the Aztecs in scoring in conference play, averaging 12.5 points per game to go with 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists (5th in the conference). She scored in double digits in 15 of SDSU's 18 conference games, led the team with 32 made threes (5th most in the league) and had an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.7.

Ramos is second all-time in school history in points, assists and made threes and is the only player in the nation with career totals of at least 1,900 points, 600 rebounds and 500 assists.

This is the fourth time Ramos has earned All-Mountain West recognition. She made the All-Freshman Team in 2019, the all-conference team in 2020 and was an honorable mention pick last year.

Morris (North Little Rock, Arkansas) made an immediate impact for the Aztecs in her first year at SDSU after four years at TCU, providing valuable interior defense and crucial vocal leadership.

In conference games, Morris averaged 10.4 points per game while leading the team in field goal percentage (.563) and blocks per game (1.0). Her 13 conference games with 10 or more points was the second on the team and on three occasions she made at least five buckets without a miss.

The Aztecs (22-9, 12-6), who tied for third place in the Mountain West, begin the Mountain West Tournament Monday at 2:30 p.m. when they take on New Mexico in the quarterfinals.
