SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team will hold its end of the year awards banquet April 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center.
San Diego State is coming off its best season in 10 years. The Aztecs won 23 games, tied for third in the Mountain West and made the WNIT.
With a roster featuring six players in their fifth year of college, SDSU boasted the best defense in the Mountain West. They led the conference in points allowed per game (57.3) and opponent three-point percentage (.282).
On offense, the Aztecs had their best assist-to-turnover ratio since the 1983-84 season and shot 35.4 percent from three, which was 28th in the nation.
Guards Asia Avinger and Sophia Ramos earned all-conference honors and Yummy Morris was an honorable mention selection, making it the first time three Aztecs earned All-Mountain West accolades in 10 years.
The event, which is open to the public, costs $65 per person or $490 for a table of eight. Additionally, you can sponsor a student-athlete for $65.
The banquet starts at 5:30 with a cocktail reception and then the program which includes dinner begins at 6:15 p.m.
