SAN DIEGO – Mountain West regular-season and tournament champion, and No. 5-seed in this week's NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the San Diego State men's basketball team clocked in at No. 18 in the final Associated Press Top 25 Poll of the season and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. San Diego State totaled 550 points in the AP poll, garnered 266 in the Coaches poll, and remains the only program in the conference to be ranked in either.
 
With its appearance in this week's AP poll, San Diego State is ranked for the 101st week since the start of the 2010-11 season, more than any other program in the state of California and the 18th most in the nation in that time frame. In addition, the Aztecs have appeared in the AP poll for at least 12 weeks in six of the last 13 years, also more than any program in the state of California.
 
San Diego State occupies the No. 18 ranking for the eighth time in school history and the second time in the last three weeks. SDSU has appeared in every position in the AP poll between No. 4 and No. 25, except for No. 12.
 
Today's ranking, released on March 13, marks the sixth time SDSU has appeared in the AP Top 25 on this date.

San Diego State will put its No. 18 ranking and No. 5-seed on the line in its first round game of the 2023 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.  The Aztecs will face No. 15-seed College of Charleston at 3:10 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 16, with the game being broadcast on truTV.
