SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State softball team returns to America's Finest City this weekend when it co-hosts the San Diego Classic.

The Aztecs (10-5), who are receiving votes in both major national polls, will play Long Beach State (2 p.m. PT) and San Diego (4:30 p.m. PT) on Friday, and Boston Univ. at 3 p.m. PT Saturday at SDSU Softball Stadium. SDSU also plays Montana (10 a.m. PT) and Boston Univ. (12:30 p.m. PT) on Sunday at USD Softball Complex at co-host San Diego.

San Diego State, which has played 2022 NCAA tournament teams in nine of its 15 games this season, is only one game behind where it was last year through 15 games (11-4) when it finished 39-16 for its second-best record in program history en route to a Mountain West-record eighth regular season title.

Bella Espinoza leads the Aztecs in average (.415), runs (12), hits (22) and stolen bases (10), while Macey Keester (.351), Jillian Celis (.347, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 8 R) and Mac Barbara (.333, 3 HR, 13 RBI, 7 R, 8 BB) are also hitting over .325 for SDSU.

Four pitchers have logged between 20 and 28 innings for San Diego State, including Dani Martinez (3-1, 1.02 ERA, 20.2 IP), Allie Light (1-3, 4 SV, 2.25 ERA, 28.0 IP), Sarah Lehman (4-1, 2.27 ERA, 24.2 IP) and Dee Dee Hernandez (2-0, 2.92 ERA, 2 SV, 24.0 IP).

The two Aztec games played at SDSU Softball Stadium on Friday will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network, while the Saturday game will air on YouTube.
