SAN DIEGO – Outright Mountain West regular-season champions and No. 1-seed in this week's Mountain West championship tournament, the San Diego State men's basketball team clocked in at No. 20 in the season's penultimate Associated Press Top 25 Poll and No. 20 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, which were release this morning. San Diego State totaled 370 points in the AP poll, garnered 205 in the Coaches poll, and remains the only program in the conference to be ranked in either.
 
With its appearance in this week's AP poll, San Diego State is ranked for the 100th week since the start of the 2010-11 season, more than any other program in the state of California and the 18th most in the nation in that time frame. In addition, the Aztecs have appeared in the AP poll for at least 12 weeks in six of the last 13 years, also more than any program in the state of California.
 
San Diego State occupies the No. 20 ranking for the fourth time in school history. SDSU has appeared in every position in the AP poll between No. 4 and No. 25, except for No. 12.
 
Today's ranking, released on March 6, marks the sixth time SDSU has appeared in the AP Top 25 on this date.

San Diego State will put its No. 20 ranking and No. 1-seed on the line in the quarterfinal game of the 2023 Mountain West championship tournament at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.  The Aztecs will face the winner of No. 8-seed Colorado State vs. No. 9 Fresno State game at noon on Thursday, March 9, with the game being broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
