SPOKANE, Wash. -- The San Diego State track and field team wrapped up day two of the WSU Open and Combined Events with a pair of impressive victories Friday at The Podium in Spokane, Washington.
Jada Moore captured the 200-meter dash in 23.86 seconds, the eighth-fastest indoor time in program history. Moore beat out 88 other entrants in the 200 and ran 0.60 seconds faster in the event than in last week's opener at the UW Invitational.
SDSU's other winner came in the long jump, where Hannah Waller's leap of 19 feet, 8 inches (5.99m) easily beat out a field of 56. It was the ninth-best indoor mark in school history and won the event by 7 ½ inches better than runner-up Elena Carter of Montana State (19-00.50 (5.80m)).
Simone Johnson followed in third in the long jump at 19-0 (5.79m), while Sameerah Evans was 16th at 17-05.25 (5.31m).
Aisha Watt came in 10th in the 200 in 24.41, and Rhea Hoyte (21st, 24.94), Sydney Bentley (25th, 25.07) and Alexus Alexander (30th, 25.36) also competed in the event.
Felicia Crenshaw logged a season-best mark in the weight throw with a heave of 50-08.25 (15.45m) and Zoe Brosch took 31st in 48-02.00 (14.68m).
The final day of the WSU Open and Combined Events wraps up Saturday.
