SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Aztec women's golf team completed the first day at the Causeway Invitational Monday. The tournament called for 36 holes to be completed Monday, however, play was suspended on two separate occasions due to inclement weather and poor playing conditions leaving players to finish between 18 and 21 holes.
The Aztecs shot a 301 as a team in the first round, good for fifth place.
Bernice Olivarez Ilas and Andrea Gomez led the Aztecs with two-over-par 74s.
Anika Sato shot a 76 (+4) and Sammy Lee had a 77 (+5).
Anna Lina Otten, who was playing as an individual, carded an 85 and April Ranches shot an 86.
