SAN DIEGO – The Aztec lacrosse team (1-3) hosts No. 19 USC at home on Friday at 2 p.m. PT. The Aztecs will then welcome No. 5 Stony Brook on Wednesday, March 1 at 1 p.m. PT for a matinee matchup at the Aztec Lacrosse Field. Both games will be streamed on the Aztec Lacrosse Youtube stream.
 
Aztec Tidbits:
• The Aztecs went 1-1 last weekend after hosting both Ohio State (L, 10-4) and California (W, 11-9).
• Deanna Balsama led the team in scoring efforts in both games with two against Ohio State and four against California.
• Aztec Goalkeeper Sam Horan has a combined 56 saves on the season after four games.
• SDSU outshot California 29-24 and 24-19 in shots on goal. They also had an advantage in draw controls (15-9) and caused turnovers (11-8).
• Six Aztecs, Deanna Balsama (4) and Caitlin Jones (3), Sydney Wolfington (1), Brook Waddell (1), Emma Betts (1), and Cailin Young (1) made scoring contributions in Sunday's contest vs. Cal. Wolfington's goal was her first of the season.
 
Season Preview Tidbits:
•Cailin Young and Shelby Hook along with Sam Horan will be the team captains this season.
• SDSU has 8 newcomers (six freshmen and two transfers).
• Head coach Kylee White (12th season), the only head coach in program history received a five-year contract extension in the fall of 2022.

The Trojans opened their season 1-1 with a loss to No. 3 Boston College (14-3) followed by an 18-10 win over Ohio State...They are 11-1 in the last 12 matchups against the Aztecs. . .They claimed two PAC-12 Player of the Week honors for Ella Heaney and Catherine Lord…
 
Opponent Notebook (No. 5 Stony Brook)
The Sea Wolves opened their season 1-0 with a win over Michigan (17-10) ...  They are 1-0 against the Aztecs after a 19-5 victory in 2016 . . . Juniors Ellie Masera and Clare Levy and Senior Kailyn Hart were included on the Tewaaraton 2023 Watch List...They were picked to finish first in the CAA preseason poll.
