SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (21-7, 11-4) hosts Wyoming (17-9, 10-5) Saturday at 1 p.m.
Aztec Tidbits
• With three games left, SDSU is in sole possession of second place in the Mountain West, while Wyoming is tied with Colorado State for third.
• The Aztecs are coming off a 53-49 win over Colorado State Thursday.
• SDSU held the Rams to a season-low 49 points and to 18.5% (5-27) shooting from three.
• This was the ninth time the Aztecs have held an opponent to their lowest point total of the year (SD Christian, Antelope Valley, Grambling State, Seattle, San Diego, Fresno State, Boise State, San Jose State and Colorado State).
• Sophia Ramos had her second straight double-double, finishing with 10 points and a season-high 12 rebounds.
• SDSU's 21 wins are their most since the 2012-13 season. San Diego State is one of five schools to have both their men's and women's teams have 20 or more wins (Alabama, Gonzaga, Texas, UCLA).
• Defensively, SDSU is first in the Mountain West in points allowed (56.0) and 3-point % defense (.276) and 2nd in steals per game (10.0). The Aztecs are in the top 35 in the nation in all of those categories.
• On offense, the Aztecs are second in assists per game (15.0) and three-point percentage (.347).
• SDSU is 14-1 at home this season, their best home record since 2011-12 (also 14-1). They have an average margin of victory of 18.7 points at home this year.
• The Aztecs have a 1.22 assist-to-turnover ratio in Mountain West play. Their 1.06 ratio on the season is their best since the 1983-84 season.
• SDSU has six players averaging between 8.0 and 12.0 points/game.
• SDSU has six players in their fifth year of college. All six have played in at least 100 games and are pursuing a master's degree.
• The Aztecs also have six players who were top 100 recruits coming out of high school.
• Sophia Ramos is the only player in the nation with at least 1,800 points, 600 rebounds and 500 assists in her career. She is 11 points away from 1,900 points.
• Ramos is second in school history in points and assists and is in the top three in program history in five other statistical categories including games (1st), made free throws (3rd), and made threes (3rd). With her next three-pointer, she will move into second place in career threes.
• Mercedes Staples is shooting 45.2% from three on the year & 40.4 percent at SDSU, both are the best in program history. She is first in the Mountain West and seventh in the nation in three-point percentage this year.
• SDSU is 17-2 when scoring 60 or more points and 17-0 when their opponent is held under 60.
• In their 28 games, SDSU has had fewer turnovers than their opponent 21 times.
• SDSU has had more steals than their opponent in all but six games and their 10.0 swipes per game is 34th in the country.
• 15 of SDSU's 21 wins have been by double-digits and eight have been by at least 20 points.
• The Aztecs have held their opponent under 50 points nine times and under 40 percent shooting 17 times.
• The Aztecs' 10-3 non-conference winning percentage was their best since the 1995-96 season (10-2, .833). According to the NET, SDSU played the second-hardest non-conference schedule in the Mountain West.

• Asia Avinger (Cerritos, Calif.) is second in the Mountain West in steals per game (2.3) in conference play.
• Sarah Barcello's (Phoenix, Ariz.) is shooting 43 percent from three in conference play.
• Alex Crain (McKinney, Texas) is shooting 38 percent from three in conference play. Her eight points Thursday vs. Colorado State was her most in a game since Jan. 5 vs. Nevada.
• Yummy Morris (North Little Rock, Ark.) has scored in double-digits in seven of the last eight games.
• 46.3% of Khylee Pepe's (Long Beach, Calif.) rebounds are on the offensive end, by far the most on the team.
• Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) has led the Aztecs in scoring six times, tied for the second most on the team.
• Sophia Ramos' (San Antonio, Texas) had a season-high 12 rebounds Thursday vs. Colorado State. This was her 10th career double-double and also her 10th time having 10 or more rebounds.
• Mercedes Staples (Centerville, Utah) is one point shy of reaching 900 for her career. A transfer from Minnesota, 792 of her 899 points have come as an Aztec.
• Kim Villalobos (Los Angeles) is averaging career-highs in points, assists, field goal percentage and free throw percentage.
Opponent Notebook (Wyoming)
• The Cowgirls are 17-9 on the year and 10-5 in conference.
• They are tied with Colorado State for third in the Mountain West.
• They are 6-6 on the road on the year and 5-3 in conference.
• They are ranked No. 108 in the NET, while SDSU is No. 90.
• Allyson Fertig leads the Cowgirls with 12.3 points per game. She is averaging 14.1 points and 8.1 rebounds in conference play.
• Fertig is second in the Mountain West in rebounds (8.8) and third in blocks (1.96) per game.
• Aside from Fertig, Quinn Weidemann (11.2) and Malene Pederson (10.5) also average double-digits in conference play.

All-time Series (Wyoming)
• The Cowgirls are 35-30 all-time against SDSU.
• The Aztecs won in Laramie 73-66 on Jan. 21, their first road win vs. Wyoming since December 30, 2015.
• Prior to that win, Wyoming had won five in a row and eight of the last nine against the Aztecs.
• In that game five Aztecs scored between 10 and 13 points and SDSU was 18-for-19 from the line.
