Milwaukee, Wis. – The Aztec lacrosse team (0-2) fell to Marquette (1-0) 20-13 Sunday afternoon after a hard-fought battle.
 
SDSU had two players score four goals: Deanna Balsama and Brook Waddell. In addition to Balsama and Waddell's scoring efforts, five additional Aztecs, Katelyn Murphy, Mia Kohn, Emma Betts, Kate Christos, and Sara Toner, each scored a goal.

Marquette started their scoring early with two goals in the first quarter and tacked on an additional 10 in the second quarter, giving them a 12-4 lead over the Aztecs going into halftime.

The Aztecs caught momentum in the fourth quarter, scoring seven goals and shrinking Marquette's lead but it wasn't enough to close in.

Kate Christos (2) and Cailin Young (2) paced the Aztecs in draw controls

SDSU goalkeeper Sam Horan had 18 saves.

Marquette was led by Lydia Foust with 7 goals followed by Shea Garcia with 4 goals.

Kate Christos scored her first career goal.
