SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State swim and dive program was recognized by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team, the organization announced Thursday from its office in Richmond, Virginia.
To be eligible for consideration, teams must have maintained an aggregate 3.0 grade point average for the 2022 fall semester. The CSCAA honored 803 squads (both men and women) from 479 different institutions, representing 19,426 individuals.
The Aztecs' 29 student-athletes posted a combined 3.46 GPA last fall, earning CSCAA Scholar All-America Team distinction for the 14th consecutive semester.
In all, the San Diego State swim and dive team has merited CSCAA Scholar All-America Team plaudits in 20 of the last 21 semesters since the start of the 2012-13 academic year.
Heading into the weekend, six Aztec divers are scheduled to compete in the Lumberjack Invitational, Feb. 3-5, in Flagstaff, Arizona.
SDSU won its 50th consecutive dual meet after defeating the University of San Diego on Jan. 27, raising its record to 14-0 on the season. With the victory, the Aztecs have not dropped a dual meet since Jan. 8, 2018—a span of over five years.
San Diego State will return to the competition pool as a full squad for the Mountain West Championships, set for Feb. 15-18 in Houston, Texas.
