SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (12-3, 2-0) hosts UNLV (13-3, 3-0) Saturday at 1 p.m. inside Viejas Arena.
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU's 12-3 start is the Aztecs' best since the 1995-96 season.
• The Aztecs host UNLV (13-3, 3-0) Saturday afternoon, the only team in the conference with more wins than SDSU.
• 10 of SDSU's 12 wins have been by double-digits and six have been by at least 20 points.
• SDSU defeated Nevada 80-70 on Thursday. They shot 55% from the floor and 53% from three.
• The Aztecs have shot above 55% from the floor in each of the last two games, the first time they've ever done that in back-to-back Mountain West games. This was also the first time SDSU has had consecutive 80-point games in conference play since January of 2017.
• Sophia Ramos was one of four double-digit scorers, leading the way with 16 points.
• Asia Avinger tied a career-high with nine assists.
• Yummy Morris had 14 points on 6-for-6 shooting and has now made her last 11 shots.
• This was the second straight game where seven Aztecs have scored eight or more points.
• Defensively, the Aztecs are first in the Mountain West in points allowed (54.3) and field goal percentage defense (35.8%) and second in turnovers forced per game (20.8), steals per game (11.3) and three-point field goal percentage defense (.275). Their 53.1 points allowed per game is 16th in the nation.
• On offense, the Aztecs are second in the conference in field goal percentage (.447), three-point percentage (.369) and assists per game (15.5).
• SDSU has had fewer turnovers than their opponent in 12 of their 15 games.
• The Aztecs are 9-0 at home this season, making it the first time they've started their home schedule 9-0 since the 2008-09 team which went undefeated. Their average margin of victory in home games is 25.1 points.
• Since the beginning of last year SDSU is 19-5 inside Viejas Arena.
• The Aztecs' 10-3 non-conference winning percentage was their best since the 1995-96 season (10-2, .833). According to the NET, SDSU played the second-hardest non-conference schedule in the Mountain West.
• SDSU is ranked No. 79 in the NET, the third highest in the Mountain West. The Aztecs have played six opponents in the top 110, going 3-3 in those contests.
• Sophia Ramos is the only player in the nation with at least 1,700 points, 600 rebounds and 450 assists in her career.
• Ramos is in the top three in program history in five statistical categories including assists (2nd), points (3rd), made free throws (3rd), and threes (3rd).
• Ramos is eight points away from passing Falisha Wright (1992-95) and moving into second place on SDSU's all-time scoring list.
• Asia Avinger (Cerritos, Calif.) leads SDSU in scoring (11.9), assists (3.8) and field goal percentage (.513).
• Mercedes Staples (Centerville, Utah) is shooting 47.2 percent from three on the year and 39.8 percent in her SDSU career, the best in program history. She leads the Mountain West in three-point percentage (.472).
Opponent Notebook (UNLV)
• The Rebels are 13-2 on the year and 3-0 in the Mountain West.
• Last year they went 26-7 and were the Mountain West regular season and tournament champions. They lost to Arizona 72-67 in the first round of the NCAA Championship.
• They are 3-2 on the road.
• Their conference wins came against Wyoming (73-67), Colorado State (91-88, OT) and at Fresno State (64-49).
• They are No. 72 in the NET, one spot behind Colorado State and six spots ahead of San Diego State.
• They score 77.6 points per game, the second most in the Mountain West
• Their +8.6 rebound margin is tops in the conference.
• They average 19.6 free throw attempts per game and shoot 76% from the line.
• Desi-Rae Young, the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year averages 18.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. She shoots 62 percent from the floor, which is 14th in the nation.
• Head coach Lindy La Rocque (3rd season) is the second youngest coach in DI women's basketball. UNLV's 26 wins last year was their most in more than three decades.

• The Rebels lead the all-time series is tied 35-29.
• SDSU is 19-12 against UNLV at home.
• UNLV has won the last four meetings and nine of the last 10.
