LOS ANGELES – San Diego State concluded its weekend stay at the Bruin Diving Invitational on Sunday by advancing two competitors to the finals of the 1-meter springboard event on the UCLA campus.

Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez paced the Aztecs with a fourth-place overall finish, compiling an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 289.95 points during the final round for an aggregate total of 572.60 points at Spieker Aquatics Center.

Valentina Lopez Arevalo also punched her ticket to the finals, where she placed 17th with 511.10 points for the day after racking up 262.30 points during the preliminaries.

In other preliminary action, Emma Duggan completed the round in the 25th position with 245.90 points, while Summer Westmoreland landed in the 38th spot with 222.00 points.

Rounding out the SDSU contingent were Olivia Zamudio (44th, 210.00 pts), Taylor Konopacke (46th, 205.20 pts) and Jules Harrison (55th, 196.70 pts).

San Diego State will return to the competition pool with a full squad on Friday, Jan. 27, when it faces the University of San Diego for the third time this season in a dual meet at 2 p.m. PT.

Aztecs swimmers will battle the Toreros at USD's home pool, while SDSU divers will compete at the same time at Aztec Aquaplex.
