SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (9-2) are heading to Florida to play in the West Palm Beach Invitational. SDSU takes on Miami (Ohio) Dec. 20 at 9 a.m. PT and then faces Georgia Dec. 21 at 11:30 a.m. PT. Both games will be streamed on FloHoops (subscription required).
 
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU's 9-2 start is the Aztecs' best in 27 years (1995-96).
• The Aztecs are ranked No. 75 in the NET, the highest in the Mountain West and their best in the NET era.
• This is SDSU's first time playing in the Eastern time since 2017 (Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas).
• The Aztecs are coming off a 68-45 win over San Diego.
• SDSU made a season-high 11 threes (11-for-19, 65%) from three and held the Toreros to 28% shooting.
• The Aztecs are 19-for-30 (63.3%) from three over the last two games. For the year, they are shooting 38.6% from deep, good for 14th in the country.
• The Aztecs are 8-0 at home this season, making it the first time they've started their home schedule 8-0 since the 2008-09 team which was a perfect 15-0 inside Viejas Arena.

• The Aztecs are top 20 in the nation in points allowed (10th, 51.7), FG% defense (16th, 33.7%) and three-point field goal percentage defense (16th, .242).
• SDSU has had more steals than their opponent in all but one game. Their 11.6 steals per game ranks 24th in the country.
• The Aztecs have held the opposition under 40 percent shooting in nine of their 11 games.
• SDSU is tied with UNLV (9-2), last year's regular season and tournament champions, for first place in the Mountain West.
• Sophia Ramos (San Antonio, Texas) is the only player in the nation with at least 1,600 points, 600 rebounds and 425 assists in her career.
• Ramos is in the top five in program history in seven statistical categories including assists (3rd), made free throws (3rd), points (4th), threes (4th).
• Ramos needs four assists to move into second place all-time and two rebounds to reach 600 for her career.
• Mercedes Staples (Centerville, Utah) is shooting 47.2 percent from three on the year and 39.8 percent in her SDSU career, the best in program history. She leads the Mountain West in three-point percentage (.472) and second in made threes (25).
Abby Prohaska (Liberty Township, Ohio) is shooting 100 percent (25-25) from the free throw line.
 
Opponent Notebook (Miami)
• The Redhawks are 4-6 on the year
• They went 8-21 last year and 4-16 in the MAC.
• They are 0-4 on the road this season.
• They are scoring 68.9 points per game but allowing 75.8
• Opponents are shooting 44.2% percent against them.
• Ivy Wolf leads the team in scoring (18.5 ppg) and assists (3.6).
• Maddi Cluse is averaging 17.6 points per game and a team-high 8.6 rebounds.
• Head coach DeUnna Hendrix is in her fourth season at Miami. She was previously the head coach at High Point for seven seasons.

• The Bulldogs are 10-2.
• They went 21-10 last year and 9-7 in the SEC and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
