In the MLB, Hensley, a Houston infielder, served as the designated hitter in both Game Three and Game Five. In Game Three, he singled in the second inning. He also singled in the ninth inning of Game Five to finish 2-for-7 in the World Series as the Astros triumphed in six games.
In the NFL, Atlanta cornerback Darren Hall (2018-20) earned a third straight start in his game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Hall played for 67 snaps on defense. The Falcons head to Carolina for a Week Ten Thursday night matchup. Arizona defensive lineman Cameron Thomas (2019-21) made a solo tackle while appearing on 17 defensive snaps and four special teams snaps. His teammate, long snapper Aaron Brewer (2008-11), was on the field for nine snaps on special teams. The Cardinals head to Los Angeles to play the Rams on Sunday.
San Francisco offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) was on bye in Week Nine. Next week, the 49ers have a home matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night. New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger (2018-21) is recovering from eye surgery. Seattle running back Rashaad Penny (2014-17), Pittsburgh safety Damontae Kazee (2013-16) and New York Jets fullback Nick Bawden (2014, 16-17) are on injured reserve. Kazee is expected to be activated for this week's game against New Orleans. Former Aztecs on practice squads are linebacker Calvin Munson (2013-16) on New England, offensive lineman Zachary Thomas (2017-21) on Chicago, linebacker Segun Olubi (2020-21) on Indianapolis, defensive back Trenton Thompson (2016, 18-21) on the New York Giants, offensive lineman William Dunkle (2019-21) on Pittsburgh and offensive lineman Keith Ismael (2017-19), defensive lineman Alex Barrett (2013-16) and safety Tayler Hawkins (2017-21) on San Francisco.
In the NBA, forward Jalen McDaniels (2017-19) played in all four games for the Charlotte Hornets, including his first start of the season. He averaged 7.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 block per game. On Wednesday, he set a season high by scoring 18 points in Chicago, the third-most points he has scored in a game in his career. So far this season, he is averaging 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.7 blocks. Guard Malachi Flynn (2020) appeared in two games for the Toronto Raptors, totaling 12 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal. On the season, he is averaging 4.2 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.3 steals. Forward Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) did not appear in any games for the Los Angeles Clippers with a knee injury. This season, he is averaging 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals. Guard Jordan Schakel (2018-21) did not play this week but has totaled three points, an assist and a steal in two games this season for Washington.
On the PGA Tour, J.J. Spaun (2009-12) tied for 15th at 15-under-par in the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba while Scott Piercy (1999-2001) tied for 32nd at 12-under-par. Xander Schauffele (2013-15) is ranked sixth in the world and 83rd in the FedEx Cup while Spaun ranks 85th in the world and 46th in the FedEx Cup. This weekend, Piercy will compete in the Cadence Bank Houston Open in Houston, Texas.
