SAN DIEGO – Aztec men's soccer head coach Ryan Hopkins has announced the signing of two nationally-ranked players to National Letters of Intent.

MEET THE NEW AZTECS
Alex Soukup – 5'5" | 115 lbs. | Forward | Canoga Park, Calif. | LA FC Academy | Canoga Park HS
According to Top Drawer Soccer, Soukup is a four-star recruit, ranked No. 47 in the nation, No. 13 among forwards and No. 3 in the Southern California region. He helped LA FC make the semifinals of the MLS Next playoffs and has been invited to the U.S. National Team camp twice. (U-14 & U-19).

Coach Hopkins' Take: "Alex is an exciting attacking midfielder that we think is a perfect fit for us. He is very comfortable playing in half spaces and is devastating off the pass or dribble. He also relishes the pressing side of the game without the ball and has a wonderful growth mindset that will allow him to be disciplined in our system of play."

Luke Cantafio – 5'10" | 145 lbs. | Defender | Orange, Calif. | Strikers FC | Tesla Academy HS
According to Top Drawer Soccer, Cantafio is a four-star recruit, ranked No. 13 in the nation, No. 38 among defenders and No. 15 in the Southern California region. He has been invited to the U.S. National team camp on three occasions (U-14, U-15 & U-17) and helped Strikers FC win two state cup championships.

Coach Hopkins' Take: "Luke is a steady versatile defender that can play as a left center back or left wing back. He is a leader by example and is dedicated to improving himself on and off the field daily. As another player from the Irvine Strikers organization, we know those players understand the work, discipline, and sacrifice it takes to be successful in college soccer."
