SAN DIEGO – The Aztec golf team is back in action on Monday when they compete in the University of Miami's Hurricane Invitational at the Biltmore Golf Course. This will be SDSU's final tournament of the fall season.

The 12-team field features five schools ranked in GolfStat's top 50: No. 10 Kent State, No. 44 Miami, No. 38 Nebraska, No. 48 New Mexico and No. 15 SMU. Other schools competing include Augusta State, BYU, Illinois, UNLV, South Florida and Texas State.

Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and then 18 on Tuesday. There will be an 8 a.m. ET (5 a.m. PT) shotgun start both days.

The Aztecs will roll out the same starting five, although in a different order, they have used in their first three fall tournaments: Bernice Olivarez Ilas, Anna Lina Otten, April Ranches, Anika Sato and Sammy Lee. Additionally, Andrea Gomez will be competing as an individual.

Olivarez Ilas (Ayala Alabang, Philippines) has led the Aztecs in two of their three tournaments and finished second last weekend. She leads the Aztecs with a 73.1 18-hole average and has scored in all nine of SDSU's rounds.

Otten (Neuss, Germany) has started 19 straight tournaments for the Aztecs and led SDSU last weekend at the Stanford Intercollegiate with a season-best 221.

Ranches (San Diego), a fifth-year senior, shot a career-best 219 earlier this month at Denver's Ron Moore Intercollegiate.

Sato (Utsunomiya, Japan) is averaging 75.6 strokes per 18, good for third on the team. She tied her season-low 18-hole score in the final round at Stanford with a one-over-par 72.

Lee (San Ramon, Calif.) has started all three tournaments for the Aztecs. Earlier this fall, she posted career-best 18-hole (72) and 54-hole scores (224).

Gomez (Huixquilucan, Mexico) didn't compete last year, but had the third best average (75.8) on the team as a true freshman in 2020-21.

The par-71 Biltmore Golf Course weaves through canals and features Bermuda grass fairways, fast greens, mature trees and long par threes. It was designed in 1925 and updated in 2018.

The forecast next week calls for partly cloudy skies with warm and humid temperatures.
