BOISE, Idaho – San Diego State women's soccer fell 1-0 to Boise State on Sunday afternoon at the Boas Soccer Complex in Boise, Idaho. A goal from Hayden Wilsey in the 35th minute proved to be the difference maker as the Broncos ran out with the win.

The Aztecs (7-5-6, 5-3-2 MW) dominated possession early on as Boise State (8-4-7, 4-2-4 MW) had to get physical to get on the ball. The Broncos fouled the Aztecs a total of seven times in the first half, and a yellow card was shown to Sophie Drown for a foul in the 28th minute.

Despite the Aztecs playing well throughout the first half, it was Boise State who opened the scoring in the 35th minute. Hayden Wilsey got on the scoresheet as she latched onto a ball from Carly Cross that Alexa Madueno in net for the Aztecs could do nothing about, and the Broncos took a 1-0 lead.

SDSU had two other chances in the period to even the score but shots by Denise Castro and Carlin Blake both fell into the hands of the Broncos keeper, and it was Boise State who took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Madueno, despite giving up the goal was immense all afternoon in goal for San Diego State. The junior made six saves on Sunday and has only given up three goals in her last seven matches played.

Elsewhere during the second half SDSU had two solid opportunities off of set pieces in the 70th minute but neither attempt provided an equalizing goal and Boise State ran out the clock in the final minutes to cling to their 1-0 win.
