ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Aztec women's golf team finished the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational, their first tournament of the year, Tuesday afternoon. The Aztecs finished tied for 12th and were led by Bernice Olivarez Ilas who shot a 222 (+5).
 
Olivarez Ilas shot a one-over par 73 Tuesday, recording two birdies and three bogeys.
 
Sammy Lee had a consistent tournament, posting a career-best score of 224 with rounds of 74, 75 and 75. On Tuesday, she tied for a team-best four birdies to offset seven bogeys.
 
Anna Lina Otten had the third best score among Aztecs, finishing with a 225.
 
After shooting a 79 in both rounds Monday, Anika Sato carded a 75 Tuesday with four birdies, which tied for a team-best.
 
April Ranches finished with a 238 (+22, 78-76-84).
 
Ohio State finished in first place with an 853, finishing 10 strokes ahead of SMU. Mayka Hoogeboom of Kent State won the individual competition with a 208 (-8, 70-65, 73).
