SAN DIEGO – Forward CJ Fodrey was named to Top Drawer Soccer' Preseason Freshman Best XI Tuesday morning, one of just three forwards in the nation selected.
A local product from Coronado HS, Fodrey (FOAD-ray) played for the San Diego Loyal of the USL where he became their first academy player to appear in a match and score a goal.
A four-star recruit that was ranked No. 73 in the nation and No. 14 among forwards by Top Drawer Soccer, Fodrey has already made a big impact on the pitch for the Aztecs in their first two friendlies.
Fodrey is one of 15 newcomers for SDSU this year that has been named the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer.
SDSU begins the 2022 season Thursday evening at CSUN before hosting LMU for their home opener Sunday at 7 p.m.
