San Diego State swimming and diving head coach Mike Shrader has revealed  the team's 2022-23 schedule, as the Aztecs seek to defend their Mountain West championship from last spring.

SDSU's highly anticipated campaign commences on Friday, Sept. 9, when it plays host to the University of San Diego in a swim-only pentathlon meet at Aztec Aquaplex.

Following a three-week hiatus, San Diego State's early season slate resumes in earnest with a dual meet, as the Scarlet and Black travels up the coast to battle Pepperdine on Oct. 6, before a making a quick venture to the Central Valley for the Chick-Fil-A Invitational, hosted by Fresno State, Oct. 7-8.

After another two-week respite, the Aztecs will hit the road once again, traveling east to Arizona's Valley of the Sun for two days, Oct. 21-22, to participate in a quad meet against Loyola Marymount, Seattle U., and host Grand Canyon in Phoenix.

As the calendar flips pages, SDSU finds itself back at Aztec Aquaplex for a dual meet vs. Utah Tech on Nov. 5, before heading to the Lone Star State for the three-day SMU Invitational, Nov. 17-19, in Dallas, Texas.

With the holidays rapidly approaching, Aztec divers will take center stage at the CBU Invitational, Dec. 16-17, competing in platform events the first day in Mission Viejo, before finishing the meet on the California Baptist campus the following day in Riverside.

Three weeks later, San Diego State opens the new year at home with a double dual meet against Cal State East Bay and Incarnate Word on Jan. 5.

The following week, the Scarlet and Black will conduct Senior Day festivities when it locks horns with Pepperdine in a rematch at Aztec Aquaplex on Jan. 13, while SDSU divers head up the freeway for the Bruin Diving Invitational at UCLA the next day on Jan. 14.

After another two-week break from competition, the Aztecs will split their squad for a dual meet against USD on Jan. 27, as the SDSU swimming delegation races at the Toreros' home pool, while the divers remain on campus for a clash their crosstown counterparts at the Aquaplex.

Aztec divers will find themselves in the spotlight once again when they hit the road for the Lumberjack Invitational, Feb. 3-5, in Flagstaff, Arizona.

A return trip to Texas awaits the Scarlet and Black shortly thereafter, as SDSU looks to defend its conference crown at the Mountain West Championships, Feb. 15-18, in Houston. Last season, the Aztecs posted the best score in conference history (1,541.5) to capture the MW title for the third time in the last four years. For his efforts, Schrader earned the eighth Mountain Swimming Coach of the Year honor of his career.

Postseason action kicks into high gear the following month when Aztec divers look to qualify for the national meet at the Zone E Diving Championships, March 6-8, with the site to be determined.

The quest for national glory continues the following week, March 15-18, when the 2022-23 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships convene in Knoxville, Tennessee.

SDSU puts the finishing touches on its campaign with another swim-only event vs. USD at Aztec Aquaplex on April 20, battling the Toreros in a long course meet.
