NEW ORLEANS – Four Aztecs earned second-team All-American honors for their performances at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the USTFCCCA announced on Tuesday. The 4x400m relay team garnered second-team All-American recognition for the second time in the past three years.

The 4x400m relay team of Jalyn Harris, Danae Dyer, Aisha Watt and Sakura Roberson were named second team All-American. The relay team earned that honor by placing in the top 16 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where they ran a time of 3:34.79 to place 13th in the event.

This is the second time that two Aztecs have earned All-American honors. Roberson and Harris both earned second-team All-American designation in 2019 as part of the 4x400m relay that placed 11th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Roberson, Harris, and Dyer were all named Indoor All-American's during the 2020 season by the USTFCCCA. Additionally, this is the first time in their careers that Dyer and Watt have earned Outdoor All-American status.

The Aztecs 4x100m relay team also earned USTFCCCA Honorable Mention status for their result at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The team of Tai McDonald, Watt, Harris and Jada Moore earned the honor after qualifying for Nationals in the event, where they ran 44.71 and came in 19th place.

The quartet all earned honorable mention status for the second time in their careers. McDonald, Watt, and Moore all earned USTFCCCA honorable mention status as part of the 4x100m relay team that qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2021, while Harris earned her first honorable mention award as part of the 2018 4x100m relay team.

Student-athletes earned first-team All-America status by virtue of finishing among the top-8 of their events – including as a member of a relay team – at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Eugene, Oregon. Second-Team All-America honors went to those student-athletes who finished between ninth and 16th place.
