SAN DIEGO -- One former Aztec started every game and hit a homer while another finished in the top 20 in a golf tournament.

In the MLB, infielder Ty France (2013-15) started at first base in each of Seattle's seven games. Last week, France hit .214 with a .313 on-base percentage, a home run, two RBIs and four runs scored. He currently leads all of baseball with 55 games played, 248 plate appearances, and 12 hit-by-pitches. France singled in a run in the Mariners' dominant 10-0 win over Baltimore last Tuesday. On Sunday, he took Texas reliever Matt Bush deep to right in the ninth to bring Seattle within two. The Mariners scored two more runs in the ninth to send the game to extra innings and another in the 10th to win 6-5. On the season, France is batting .326 with a .401 on-base percentage, eight home runs, 37 RBIs and 26 runs. Pitcher Stephen Strasburg (2008-09) remains on the 10-Day IL for Washington, but is expected to return this week. Outfielder Greg Allen (2012-14) is spending at least the first two months of the season on the 60-Day IL for Pittsburgh.

On the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele (2013-15) tied for 18th in the Memorial Tournament at 2-under-par. He is ranked 12th in the world and 19th in the FedEx Cup and J.J. Spaun (2009-12) is ranked 23rd in the FedEx Cup. Next weekend, Spaun and Scott Piercy (1999-2001) are competing in the RBC Canadian Open, in Etobicoke, Canada.
