CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Bunyawi Thamchaiwat is set to compete in the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship, where she will face No. 7 Erin Cayetano out of USC in the second round of the tournament on the campus of the University of Illinois today at 11:30 a.m. PT.

Thamchaiwat, a senior from Nakhonratchasima, AF Pacific, Thailand has enjoyed an extremely successful stint at SDSU this season. Thamchaiwat played the entire dual season at the No. 1 slot in singles play and posted an impressive 4-0 record in conference play and was leading in three other conference singles matches that went unfinished. She went a perfect 13-0 in dual matches while consistently playing the best competition in both conference play and throughout dual season, and has not lost a match in over six months heading into the NCAA singles championship.

She will play Erin Cayetano in the second round and the match will be streamed on the Tennis One app and website. Should she come out on top she will advance to the sweet 16 and will play against the winner of the match between Mariia Kozyreva of Saint Mary's (CA) and Mananchaya Sawangkaew of Oklahoma State tomorrow.
