ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Bernice Olivarez Ilas shot a 71 in the final round of the NCAA Albuquerque Regional Wednesday, being one of just seven golfers to be under par.
Olivarez Ilas (Ayala Alabang, Philippines) improved her score in each round, shooting an 80, then a 74 before finishing with a 71 on Wednesday. Her 54-hole score of 225 (+9) put her in a tie for 42nd.
She had just two bogeys Wednesday (holes 16 and 2) to go with three birdies (13, 1 and 4). Her round of 71 was her seventh round below par this year, tied for the most on the team.
Sara Kjellker (Hollviken, Sweden) withdrew from the tournament Wednesday morning due to an illness. She shot a 145 (71-75, +2) in her first two rounds and was tied for 18th.
Individually, Florida's Marina Escobar Domingo (-3) and Sam Houston State's Viera Permata Rosada (E) will advance as individuals to the NCAA Championships.
The top four teams to move on to the NCAA Championships are No. 2 Oregon (-4), No. 13 Texas (-1), No. 28 Georgia (+2), and No. 33 TCU (+10).
