It was also in that game that he surpassed the 1,000-career point plateau.
In 2021-22, his 17.3 points per game led Seattle U and ranked fifth in the WAC. In addition, he led the team in field goals and field goals attempted (161-of-402) and, among those with at least 200 attempts, finished second with a .400 field goal percentage. In addition, the Marin City, Calif., native, totaled 155 assists, an average of 5.0 per game which led the squad, ranked No. 2 in the WAC and 34th in the nation. He led the league with 78 steals (No. 4 in the nation), and free throw percentage. Trammell scored in double digits in 28-of-31 games, scored 20 or more 11 times and hit the 30-point mark twice, including his career-high 39-point performance in the 2022 WAC tournament semifinal. For the second straight season, he was named first-team All-WAC, earned inclusion on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 6 first team, and was a member of the WAC All-Defensive and All-Tournament teams.
Trammell is one of two players listed as 5-10 or shorter who have scored 1,000+ points in the last two seasons, was one of six who averaged 17.3 points, 5.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds in Division I and was the only player under 6-0 to reach those averages. In addition, according to Synergy Sports, last year his 6.9 points per game off pick and rolls were the fifth most in the nation.
In his first season at Seattle U, after transferring from City College of San Francisco (CCSF), Trammell averaged 20.5 points per game, which led the WAC and ranked 19th nationally. In 18 starts and 23 total appearances, he was third in the conference, and 33rd in the nation, with 5.3 assists per game. He led the league, and was 36th in Division I, with an 86.6 percent free throw shooting mark and added 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals. For his efforts he was recognized as an NABC first-team All-District 6 performer, as well as first-team All-WAC, and earned inclusion on the WAC All-Newcomer and All-Tournament teams. Trammell totaled 21 double figure scoring efforts, including 11 of more than 20 points and three with more than 30. He led the team with 43 three-pointers and had 10 games of at least six assists.
Prior to Seattle U, in 2019-20, Trammell spent the year at CCSF, where he led the squad, which averaged over 100 points per game, to a 30-0 record. In 29 appearances, including 17 starts, he averaged 10.3 points (87-of-207 - 42.0 FG% & 103-of-118 – 87.3 FT%), 3.3 rebounds, 4.4 steals (his 188 total steals ranked second in the state) and 4.1 assists. For his play he was honored as a first-team All-California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Coast-North Conference performer. CCSF won the league and Northern California Regional titles and was poised to compete in the quarterfinal of the CCCAA championship before COVID-19 canceled the event.
Trammell prepped at St. Ignatius High School in San Francisco. The four-year letterwinner was named a first-team All-West Catholic League performer following both his junior and senior campaigns.
This past season, the Aztecs finished with a 23-9 record, reached the championship game of the Mountain West tournament for the fifth straight year under head coach Brian Dutcher and earned a No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament.
San Diego State is expected to return starters Matt Bradley, Lamont Butler and Keshad Johnson, as well as significant contributors Adam Seiko, Aguek Arop, and Chad Baker-Mazara. Trammell joins TCU transfer Jaedon LeDee, who sat out last season, redshirt freshman Demarshay Johnson Jr., as well as incoming freshmen Miles Byrd and Elijah Saunders as new faces in the 2022-23 season.
